At Smile Experience Orthodontics, we strive to make every visit to our office a positive one. We go above and beyond to make our patients feel comfortable and at ease while getting orthodontic treatment. Here’s some information about what you can expect:
What You Should Bring to the Visit
After making your appointment for an initial consultation, you will receive an email with a couple forms to fill out. If you get a chance to fill these out before your visit it will save you some time when you come in. If do not get a chance though, do not worry, you can fill them out once you arrive for your appointment. It's a good idea to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early for your first appointment so that you'll have plenty of time to fill these forms out and provide any other information that's requested.
At your first visit, adults should bring a copy of their dental health insurance so that we can confirm your orthodontic benefits.

What to Expect
Your first appointment will last approximately an hour.
First you will be given a short tour of the office. During this tour we want to be able to introduce you to our team and the people that will be helping to take care of all of your needs. After this you will be brought back to the consultation room, in which the first step will involve taking photos and X-rays of your teeth. These images give Dr. Rosenberg information about what your teeth look like both above and underneath the gums. We will also take a digital scan of your teeth. This provides a 3D replica of your bite and can be used to demonstrate your treatment needs.
The last portion of the exam will involve Dr. Rosenberg physically examining your teeth. At the end of the exam, he will discuss his diagnosis with you and you'll have the opportunity to ask any questions.
What You'll Leave With
You should exit your first appointment with a customized treatment plan. Dr. Rosenberg will explain all of your options, what the treatment entails, and how long it will take. We will also review the cost of treatment, what your exact orthodontic insurance benefits are, and the payment plan options. If Dr. Rosenberg deems that you or your child are ready for treatment, and you are ready to move forward we can sometimes start treatment that day. Otherwise, we will schedule your follow up visit to start treatment at a time that is convenient for you, typically within 1-2 weeks.
One of the goals in our office is for you to leave your first visit with a great understanding of where dental health and esthetics currently stand, and what are the different ways that we may be able to help you to achieve your dental goals. Dr. Rosenberg loves educating patients on what he sees during his exam so that you can walk away comfortable with why he is making any treatment recommendations and what the plan will be.
If you don't have any current orthodontic needs, you may simply be asked to come back for periodic check-ups to make sure that no new issues have developed and any existing issues aren't growing worse.
