Touching Up Your Smile With Invisalign®

At Smile Experience Orthodontics, we offer Smile Experience Express, a program to help straighten your smile quickly and comfortably.

If you are an adult with minor misaligned teeth, this program allows you to use Invisalign® to touch up your smile. Compared to traditional Invisalign® treatment, Smile Experience Express has shorter treatment times and only uses a few sets of aligners.

What Is Invisalign?®

Invisalign® is a comfortable and discreet orthodontic treatment option. It involves clear aligners made of a transparent, medical-grade plastic material that are custom-made to fit your teeth. You wear these aligners for about 20-22 hours per day and change to a new set of aligners every 7-14 days or as directed. Over time, the aligners transform your smile by gently shifting your teeth into the desired positions.

Getting Started With Smile Experience Express: Invisalign® SmileView™

Prior to beginning treatment, patients can utilize a digital tool called SmileView™. Invisalign® SmileView™ is designed to give you a virtual preview of what your smile might look like after completing Invisalign® treatment. It works by:

  • Online Simulation: SmileView™ uses an app on your phone. On the app, you can upload a photo of your smile or use your phone camera to take a selfie.

  • Photo Processing: Once your photo is uploaded, SmileView™ uses advanced computer algorithms to analyze the current position of your teeth and create a digital model of your smile.

  • Customized Simulation: The tool then simulates the step-by-step progress of your smile transformation. It shows how your teeth are expected to move and align over the course of your Smile Experience Express treatment.

  • Visual Result: SmileView™ will then provide you with a series of images or a short video that shows the end result of your treatment. This includes a before-and-after comparison so that you can see the potential transformation of your smile!

What To Expect During Smile Experience Express Treatment

Dr. Rosenberg or Dr. Nicole Czajka will create a customized treatment plan based on the simulated results from SmileView™. He will order a series of clear aligners that are designed to gradually move your teeth into the desired position, as shown in the simulation. Treatment will take about 6 months on average, though sometimes it can take as little as 3 months. Since treatment is faster than traditional Invisalign® treatment, it only uses about 5-10 sets of clear aligners total, compared to the usual 20-30 sets.

You should expect to wear your aligners for 22 hours a day, only taking them out when you eat or brush your teeth. You will change to a new set of aligners about every two weeks and see Dr. Rosenberg or Dr. Nicole Czajka about every 8 weeks to receive any additional aligners. Make sure to follow any and all guidelines to ensure you complete your treatment on time so you can enjoy your new, straight smile as soon as possible!

The Smile Experience Express program is a great option for adults! It is best for adults who have slight teeth misalignment/whose teeth have become slightly crooked. Whether you have had braces or other orthodontic treatment before and your teeth have shifted, or if you’ve never gone through orthodontic treatment, this program may be the right option for you.

You can expect treatment to take an average of 6 months, but sometimes it takes even less time. Smile Experience Express is a fast treatment that only uses a few sets of aligners.

Over time, your teeth can shift positions for a variety of reasons, including teeth grinding, weakened gum tissue, gum disease and even just aging. Even if you had braces or other orthodontic appliances in the past, your teeth can still move down the road. Plus, a previous orthodontist may have told you that you only needed to wear your retainers for a few years post-orthodontic treatment. Now, we know that retainers are for life! Continuing to wear your retainers at night will help keep your teeth from shifting over time.
